Next project in our new to us house (from 1994) is our pool house floor. It was VCT tile that looked like hammered shit. I got up most of it with a border spade. Some came right up in big pieces, some took lots of effort.

On top of the concrete, there's some blue stuff. Maybe a paint, maybe a previous floor of some type, but it's hard as hell to get up. It's not the glue, I can see that separately. If I scrape it directly with a razor, it will come up very slowly, but I have a lot to do.

Are there any chemicals that can dissolve this stuff? Should I use a floor buffer with a coarse pad?

You need an attatchment for a hilti gun. Like a spade attatchment. It will be a pain.

Commercially, I see them use a ride on machine with a 6" attatchment upfront and they scrape it up that way

Cutback often had asbestos added.

Dry scraping is not a good idea.

I still have a very usable bucket of it.
