I am about to redo the shower with ceramic tile. The shower is only a 3'x3' and a 27" door. I have laid tile a few times on floors but never like this. I have all the materials bought already and will be using 12"x12" for the walls and a octagon mosaic for the floor and back of 1 niche. I plan on using rock board with mesh tape on seams and the water proofing paint. The biggest worry for me is the edges. The door wraps around walls on 4 sides and the niche that I am wanting to miter the edges. I have a small 4" wet saw with new blade that folds up on one side for 45 degree cuts but I have been reading a lot about how tough it is to cut the ceramic tile. I have thought about cutting straight then take 80 percent off to keep from being to thin and brittle but man that will be a lot of cuts. Any tips, tricks or suggestions for a rookie. Thanks in advance, Scott

Schluter has some options for dealing with corners/transitions you might check out.
With a decent blade ceramic should be no problem to mitre though.

I looked at the Schluter and thought it would look cheap on that much area. I might try and pre cut a few this weekend on one side and see how I do. I hope to start it next week and I might need to get a few more just in case.

Either the shluder edges or, some tile stores will bulnose tile for you. My store was 9 bucks a foot.  Most tiles come from Europe and they don't bull nose. Big box tiles are sometimes available in bullnose.

But the shade of color will be different. It won't be glazed over

wow I have 45 ft with door and niche =$405 at $9 ft. That's almost as much as I have spent for everything so far.  I found a 7" tile saw on craigslist for $40 that the platform swivels to cut the mitered edges. I will post picks for approval later, I am hoping to do it next week.

I used schluter edging and it made things pretty easy.  I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Grab a stone to smooth out the cut edges. It will also be good to dress the wheel once and a while with it

Hmm that does look good but I just don't think I would like a 7ft x 3 ft boxed door. I might have to get a piece for the side in front and look at it better along side what I can cut. Thanks Leon82 for the heads up about the stone.
