I have a pretty wooded area around my home and the gutters seem to stay full of leaves all year.  What type gutter cover works best, the solid type Gutter Guard type or the mesh type cover.  I am leaning toward the mesh type. My roof is pretty steep and in places there is quite a bit of roof area with not that large of a gutter run to carry the water off.  Please let me know your thoughts.

You still have to clean them, maybe even more, but they're easier to clean. Instead of filling up the gutters, the leaves will now just sit on top and then they can back the water up under the edge of the shingles.

I use the mesh ones.

Mesh and foam inserts both do poorly with pine needles.  It's like they get belligerent and shoot you the finger instead of just laying low.  Flat leaves blow off easily enough if you're inclined to get on the roof with a leaf blower.

First world problems and all that.
