I've been using the leaf blower attachment for my km-130r, it works well but for the yard that I have I would like something nicer int terms of power and fuel capacity.  I think a backpack leaf blower might fit the bill.  Any ideas?  Are the stihl ones decent, theres a dealer right by me, or I can drive a little bit to a red max dealer.

In this area, the vast majority of lawn care companies are using Stihl.  I personally have an Echo handheld.  I think the Stihl is a better blower but for my yard, the Echo does a fine job.

I've had a Stihll BP(backpack) 350 for several years, and it's great.  I have a lot of area to do, which is why I bought the backpack.
I use it when we cut the grass, in the fall for leaves, and even small accumulations of snow.
I almost bought the next model up, and am glad that I didn't, as that model might move the house off of its foundation.
If you don't have a lot of area to keep up, those handheld models are nice.

this is modern ARFCOM; no one returns to their thread to answer questions like "budget?" and "how big of an area do you have to clear?", etc

I guess I'll take it over then.

Just moved here and apparently the grass is far thicker than I imagined.  I mowed for the first time and had to set the mower almost as high as it would go. Even at that I got a TON of clippings and clumps.

Total yard is a little less than a 1/4 acre I think.  But I'll need to clear off sidewalks along the front and one side of the house along with the driveway and front and back porches.  I don't think I need, or want, a heavy duty commercial blower but something would be useful.

I have no idea on a budget since I have a skewed idea of what things should cost and I'm a cheap ass.  But let's not break the bank here.  Cheap and reliable with some preventative maintenance is fine with me.
