| Anyone ever done this or know where there is some good info about the subject? Looking to install a couple of wireless cameras around the property to take still photos every few seconds then record video when movement is detected. |
I recently bought a Swann. I researched some first and found they are as good as any of them. The only thing I've found is they detect "motion" in much too sensitive fashion, as the infrared lights are apparently visible to moths and such and set it off. You get LOTS of false recordings.
The brain box and two cameras was about $400. I snagged a 32G SDS card for $30. |

You'll find more info in "Urban Commando' forum.
I bought a Foscam $99.00 from Amazon. Downloaded free Vitamin D software. (only does one cam). Works great. About to add another cam and upgrade to Blue Iris Pro for multi cams. Both record to your PC hard drive. Take very little room. Both Vitamin D and blue iris have sensitivity adjustments for motion detection. |

The downside is it's not super easy to make them record to a DVR, but it can be done. Most of the newer models have built in SD card slots for on cam recording. I use them to send emails to me when there is motion when there shouldn't be. Eta you can add the cams to your phone with LiveCams Pro. I love it. They even have 2 way audio. |
