My heat pump stopped pumping heat and when I pulled the cover off the below pic is what I saw (I unplugged the wire to get a look at it).

1.  It looks like I simply need to get a new board, swap it for the old one, and replace the connectors on the 2 black wires.  Is this correct?

2.  The lower of the two black wires, which is mostly hidden, looks like it was fairly corroded.  Is this a likely cause of the arcing?  Will coating the connections in dilectric grease prevent this from happening again?

3.  The connectors on the capacitor below this are also badly corroded.  Should I replace it as well?

Could be the corrosion, but unlikely...I would replace the connectors for sure.  Wouldn't hurt to check the rest of the unit out and make sure the terminals didn't got hot from something else...i.e. buy a new board and burn it up too.
