When using Google from Iphone, Ipad, PC or MAC, 3 out of 5 times it will link me to facebook just by typing google.com in the address bar. Not a fan of bing but have been using it when problems arise. Did a couple searches and found that google had some sort of virus. All pc virus software is updated. Scanned the computers and nothing found, checked for malware as well. Also read something about DNS changers (whatever the fuck that is) and went to a website and mine does not appear to have any.

If I take any of these devises to another source of wifi, there has never been a problem. Cell phones will not link to facebook when searching on google when using cell tower vice wifi from home. I thought maybe there was an issue with the router so I unplugged it for a few minutes and plugged it back in. The router is hooked up to google TV, the one that is freestanding. I am running out of patience on this one! Even my new Macbook does it so i am thinking there is a problem with the router.

I could just replace the router but dont want to throw the money away if it doesnt fix the problem.

How could i trouble shoot it and get rid of the bullshit? Help!

Sounds like you have checked the right things, AV, Spyware, etc.

DNS is used to translate names(web sites) to IP addresses. If your DNS settings have been hijacked, you will be using someone's (nefarious) DNS server to point to you a different web site as you type in google.com

Also, check your lmhost file or your host file. This is also used for IP name resolution.
This may be "hijacking" your web sites.
Here is a video(not mine) on how to edit/view it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGIT52jJTCA

If you see entries for google.com in the host or lmhost file, you can remove those entries.
Hope that helps!

Put plainly, DNS tells your computer that google.com is 12.34.21.54 or some other IP address. Or, it will tell you that 12.34.21.54 is google.com

It the networking way of saying:

"Hey! Where's Sally's house? I want to go there."
"Oh, her house is at 123 Elm Street in Podunk California."

Conversely, it also works like:

"Hey! Who lives at 123 Elm Street in Podunk California?"
"Oh, that's Sally."

Got the mac fixed. Did it without a DNS flush but rather I had to rename the DNS address to something specific. Internet is lighting fast now!

On to work on the PC, Not sure how that will effect the Iphones and other wifi devices.

Thanks for the lesson.
