| I had my house built 8 years ago, and slowly the A/C unit has been leaning to one side. Well this summer it was so hot and dry it has really dropped and I didn't notice it. I was thinking of releveling it but was curious if this would hurt it or help it since it has probably been this way all summer. |

However - be CAREFUL when changing the level - and try to do it ONCE - and pack dirt or concrete under the pad. You will put a bind on your copper lines depending on how they are run. The *best way* to handle this job is to pump all the refrigerant back into the coil, disconnect the lines and electrical, re-level the pad or pour a new larger one with concrete, and then install new dryers, vacuum, and re-connect the lines and adjust refrigerant levels.
I just waited till one of my units was replaced due to age, and had them hold off for an hour while I re-leveled the pad. I have a strong slope in the yard, so I will come back an put in concrete and rebar underneath it where it sticks out/overhangs. |
