Hello again everybody,

I just bought my first trailer, its a 16' dual axle  V-Nose (18' nose to tail), 2 shelving units inside (directly over the axles), and a ladder rack.

The shelves will hold the bulk of my tools and hardware, but theres a lot of stuff Im still figuring out how to secure. Namely, Makita Mitre and stand, saw horses, pressure washer, and a ton of odds and ends like ladder stand-offs and safety ears, chainsaws, etc etc etc.

Im going to diagnose myself with mild OCD right now, haha, I hate when I cant find something immediately, and I certainly don't want to have to pickup/re-arrange my trailer every time I move it.

Some of the stuff Im thinking Ill just make a sort of 2"x4" frame around on the floor so it can't move a lot, like gas cans and the pressure washer, but I thought Id ask the hive and see if you guys could bounce some ideas off me.

If I've learnt one thing so far, paracord/shock-cord is my best friend when hanging stuff on the walls. It helps suck it in and keep from swinging, I hope.

Let's hear and/or see what you've got! Ill be sure to get pics up when Im through.

Thanks for reading.

You can put 1 24" deep shelf in to hold the saws, gas, etc held in by bungee chords
Eyelets in the floor for larger tools like pressure washers using straps or bungees
Use eyelets on the walls and bungee the table saw to a wall
Hook up a battery inside the trailer with a couple dc fluorescents up inside the bows charged by the towing vehicle
Mount an inverter with a surge strip and plug your battery chargers into the strip
Charge your batteries on the way to the job and light when needed
Install bearing buddies
Get 2 spares
I had a big vnose and used rubbermaid totes secured by bungees on shelving on both sides of the trailer

Thanks for the reply HandyDave!

Id say organization was a success. Heres some pics, I wish I could put up more but just about every tool I own has my name plastered on it somewhere.

I bought a pack of "eye's" at HD for $5, and I had a 100' of shock-cord from SupplyCaptain.com laying around for $7. I just bent the eyes out to make a hook. I believe it will help the hung stuff from swinging too much and keep it on the hooks. Its not very inconvenient to un-hook, shown in second pic.

I installed larger 300lb-test eyelets on the floor, 4 for $5, they are holding down the saws and pressure washer as advised. Theres bungees for now, but only until I pick up some pull straps. (Not ratchet straps, Im afraid someone will over do it.)

Lastly, I snugged some random stuff up on the ceiling with rope and slip-knots.

Wish I could show you mine it was decked out, went missing 2 years ago with about $50k in tools and equipment.  Insure the shit out of it, the contents and look into a trailer alarm.  I cried like a bitch when I came home and it was all gone, fuckers stole the way I make a living and my insurace company only covered the trailer and 2k of it's contents.

looks good

Move the lights in-between the bows flush to the roof mounted on a thin pc of sheetmetal jammed up against the roof

otherwise, they won't work for long.  Ask me how I know

They don't work already, I thought it may be the battery.

What's the reasoning for that? Too rough of a ride or something?
