I bought a new dryer this past weekend. I had to wire it obviously, so I put a dolly under it and put the dolly to the floor. Dryer face down, wired it and plugged it in. It had a ching-ching-ching sound to it, kinda like change in the dryer. Did I screw it up by turning it face down? Please help me, I don't know anything about dryers.

Did you remove the shipping strap?

Ah, what's that?

Edit: It was wrapped all the way around it with plastic.

As it's new I wonder if the assemblers didn't drop a screw inside and left it?  Turning it on its side probably allowed it to move to a place where it is now making noise.  They are easily disassembled, so I'd just take the back off and locate it.

So today, I saw that in the back of the dryer, there is a thin steel plate screwed into the back wall of the tumbler. It was almost falling off. So I screwed it back in and that seemed to help with the ching-ching- ching sound. Now it's making a ert-ert-ert-ert sound. I guess, I'll just have to call in the warranty. Anymore idea's? Thank you for the suggestions guys.

Frigidaire or GE dryer? If so, that was likely the bushing/bearing holder that was loose.

GE dryer. Old school type, not the fancy dancy one's. All white metal, loads from the front, knobs and dials in stuff.

Stop right there.  Call the people you bought it from.  It's new.  It's defective.  Call.
