It was a great horror movie.
The Wolfman was not all cgi as in most of the drivel put out today. I read that all facial shots were Rick Baker makeup with the exception of the distended/unhinged jaws. It was very much old school stylized with light back screens silhoettes of the running villagers etc. The werewolves were truly the bringers of death, not just the cutsie pie dog-like cgi monsters of recent shit like Twilight. These were badasses, ripping lmbs etc.. And any Arfcommer has to love a film with a 10 bore double rifle...with silver bullets no less..... it could have been a 6 or 8 bore I just know the shell casings and rounds were at least the size of a10 guage......way cool and fitting that a big game hunter would posess such a weapon. And the historical accuracy of the Webley revolver was cool too It was very much what I wanted in my horror movies without the gay shit that infests so many... |
| i thought it was really good. the setting was great and murky, and while i like the more bipedal werewolves that look more wolflike (howling, bad moon, dog soldiers, etc.). this was a tribute in many ways to the old school black and white one. Bottom line it pay homage to the old style horror movies while still being modern somewhat. |
