I've been plenty happy with a simple AV316 from 1996,  but after moving into a new place and getting updated TV & bluray it seemed like time to do some upgrading.   I'm probably at 75% music and 25% movies, no outdoor parties or obscene volumes.

Anyone have a T-747?  I can't jump into the deep end pricewise, especially as the supporting cast are also older/entry level (the CD changer is a Denon from 1991, speakers Energy and a 12" B&W sub all from about '98).  I know all about the NAD power ratings, bling-free design, and dealer pricing.  Just looking for some real-world feedback, google isn't bringing up a whole lot.  Don't give a rat's ass about the FM or AM tuner, both are wasted with my local area and listening preferences.

Would certainly entertain other options, just no Bestbuy crap please.

Thanks

I'm going to bet there are only a handful of people here who know that NAD is an audio company much less have real world experience with them.  You need a full blown audio forum like AVS to get real information.

I didn't know that forum existed, must not have been using the correct keywords.  Thank you

I've got you beat (unfortunately).  I still use my NAD 3225PE integrated amp (using as a preamp) and 2100 power amp.  I have a similar vintage Adcom tuner, Sony DVD player and Sony VCR feeding them.  The 2100 feeds a pair of Polk Monitor RTA 11TLs.  My '87 Denon DCD 600 still works, but the DVD player does 2x as much in the same input.

Tell me what you know about these things.  I already know about their bling-free design (which I like a lot) but any scuttlebutt on their power ratings and dealer pricing issues will be new news to me.

One of their marketing pitches for years has been that the power numbers are real-world iinstead of being measured in an inflated way.   Warranty only applies to purchases from their dealers, which unfortunately means prices are not often discounted.

I'm seriously over my head and budget looking at much more than the lower end of what is available.   The old one made me happy for quite a few years, so that's who I'm starting to shop with this time.
