I have been playing around with my 360 streaming stuff to my HDTV.  It works fair. But seems pretty hit and miss on whether or not something will play. But, I watch a lot of stuff in weird codex and embedded subtitles.  (Think anime torrents straight from Japan.)

Well, TVersity is out there, and it will at least play the funky codex, but the subtitles don't.  I've been playing around with tweaking all the codexes and haven't had much success.  It's fun on a geeky tech level, but after a bit, it's getting frustrating and time wasting.  Granted, I can just haul the PC downstairs and hook it up to the TV, but that isn't as cool, now is it?  (And, the analog input only goes up to 720p.  For Shame....)

A friend pointed me towards the WD TV device.  They have one (the Live model) that has Network access, and does some streaming straight from the web (Including pandora, which I have also just recently started using).  So, I pulled the trigger on it today.  It promises to play my stuff all trouble free, through my network or attached USB storage.  I am looking forward to it.

So, anyway.  I should have it next week sometime, and will report back on my experience with it.  Anyone else have one, or a similar device?

I got a Asus O!Play over the WD TV Live because the O!Play can play DVD ISO with menu support and it plays everything I have thrown at it.. The WD TV Live should work well for you.
