Just rented this DVD from Netflix and I have to say that it was great.

It's based on a true story about the experience of Lt. Col. Michael Strobl as he escorts the body of fallen Marine Chance Phelps back home to Wyoming.

If you get the opportunity, check it out. Very well done and extremely moving.

Even if you don't like Kevin Bacon, (for whatever reason) you will not regret watching this movie.

I have seen the movie and it is a very well done, very moving movie.

My church's youth group watched that for Veterans Day. There were some veterans, active duty, and state military forces there.

There was not a dry eye in the house.

Also would have to agree. I sat through the whole thing without saying a word. A definite must see.

Huh. I had written this movie off assuming it to be a liberal shitfest. Guess I'll have to check it out.

Balisong, I was worried about that also at first but I couldn't have been more wrong. It didn't have an agenda at all. Its just tells the story of a Marine taking another Marine home.
Very well done.

Looks like Kevin Bacon won a Golden Globe for his performance.

I was hesitant too, being that it was an hbo movie.
I saw it when it first aired and I teared up more than the end of Saving Private Ryan and Field of Dreams combined. Through the whole thing.

Excellent Movie.  Trouble is trying to get others to watch it.  More people should see it.

This is an incredibly powerful movie.

This is easily Kevin Bacon's best work, and that is a large volume to choose from. So much of this movie has no dialogue, and all we get is Kevin Bacon's facial responses to the reactions of the people he comes in contact with. There's no agenda, just raw emotional experiences.

And I have no shame in that I cried both times I've been able to watch it all the way through.
