Plugged them in together and can't see my computer on the t.v. Can anyone school me on how this is supposed to work? The T.V. is an LG and has hdmi ports and a S video cable port. Do I have to plug in other cords with it? Please help the tarted... |

Ill take a WAG... try putting the TV on the 'video' channels (not the 1, 2, 3.... channels).. Brian Okay, I'm not that retarded... The tv has specific inputs so I can scroll through for HDMI (ps3), or other things attached. I set it to the S video cable input and the screen said, "no input" |

I'm not sure if you have done this or not but your source (usually a DVD etc) must be connected to your receiver via an S-video cable then your receiver must connect to your TV via an S-video cable as well. With a computer, my HD TV has a monitor port for this purpose. I assume yours has this port as well. |

Check the computer manual for the correct output settings. You might need to inform the computer you want the video signal output to that device instead of the monitor. Yeah this is what I was thinking, may need to run the "Multiple display wizard" to get your graphics card to output through the s-video port. |

On my current laptop it is Function+F4 and on my last laptop is was Function+F10 to toggle where the video is output. |

... or check in the Control Panel under Displays. Once the TV is plugged in, it should show up in there. Select the TV as the output device.
The above instructions varies, depending upon the version of Windows you have. In the latest versions, some of that is automated for you and it tells you it found a new display and asks which display you want to use. S-video is a pretty low quality output, why use that when the TV accepts HDMI? You can get an adaptter cable that goes from your computer's DVI output to your TV's HDMI input. |

Most new TVs have analog PC D connection and/or just get a DVI to HDMI cable, if it is a desktop better yet get a video card with HDMI out.
Model TV? Model PC? With a newer HDTVs there should be several better alternatives than a low quality SD S-video connection. |
