Not the same as seeing it in a Class A theatre on real cinema, though.

Now you may have me there.
One thing I kind of find odd is that their not advertising it as a two part flick.

How long is the entire film?

The Belcourt Theatre is showing a running time of 2 hours and 28 minutes.

That is because the US release is not two parts but cut to only one movie of about two and one half hours.

Red Cliff was on HD Net Movie channel Thursday night and I recorded it on the DVR I tried watching it last night late but was to sleepy to get more than a third of the way in. It is beautifully filmed but a little hard to follow I suspect due to so much of the original films being cut, as with most Chinese films the fight scenes while well choreographed are a little over the top for my taste. I am going to try to fit it in tonight.

As a Woo fan, I am really looking forward to this.  And I haven't seen Tony Leung in something in years!

I am hoping one of the fine arts theaters around here shows it.  Granted, they're really not much more of a 'theater' than my home theater, in fact I'd reason that my fairly mid-range surround sound is better than theirs!  Heh.  But still, something nice about seeing these types of films in the theater.  I have been lucky enough to see Crouching Tiger, Hero, and Flying Daggers in theater.  Heck, even Hard Boiled and Full Contact way back.

Otherwise, yeah, I'll have to wait for the DVD.  These grand epic Asian films make me really want Blu Ray!  Really beautiful films to watch.
