( I'll probably be flamed beyond recognition for this, but... )

Is anyone else a fan of this super-cheesy show?

I don't want to like it, I don't want to enjoy it... but it's just so much good clean fun.

Am I completely alone on this?...

Had to Google it (Iron Chef USA), but am strangely drawn to all things Japanese based... from Ultimate Endurance to Ninja Warrior and Bansuke.... will have to look this one up...

Meh, I like that show and Chopped.  They are on late at night and generally better than infomercials.  Plus, it's neat to see what they can do with obscure ingredients.

The original Japanese version was pretty good. Got up very sleepy a lot of Mondays 'cause I'd stayed up to see who won. Got a lot of great cooking ideas out of it also.

I like it, and the Japanese version.  The Japanese version had better chefs.  The only chefs worth a damn on ICA, are Morimoto, (who was also on the Japanese version), and Batali.  Flay and those other clowns are average, at best.

Take away corn, chili oil, and ancho powder, and Bobby Flay is powerless!

I don't think I'm quite ready to broach that one with him yet –– I keep waiting for him to ask me some difficult questions about my wife's cousin and her "roommate"...

I'm sure we'll have to cross that bridge soon enough as it is.

Iron Chef trivia: the host was Mani in Brotherhood of the Wolf.

+1
Yeah, I was a fanatic about the original, Godzilla quality dubbing and all. Those guys acted like it was life-or-death at judgement time.I still watch the USA version, but mostly to see what Morimoto gets up to.

I enjoy it, as somone else said, better than infomercials.  Although I have woken up a few times after dreaming about zombie chefs serving up humans
