Just one of my favorite all time films. I remember watching this film as a kid when HBO would show it and I watch it when ever it's on Retroplex.....
I love the acting, the plot, everything.... If I was my age (24) in the 1920s-1930s I'd more then likely serve on a Gun Boat in China..... |

Great movie AND book! Saw it on TV with my dad years ago, and fell in love. I have GOT to find it on DVD. Same here! My dad introduced me to Steve McQueen movies, this and Le Mans are up there. The beginning and middle aren't exactly action paked, but they do a great job of setting up the scene. I really dig this movie. |

Regardless, I always like when the actors are former military, as the authenticity is always a great thing to see compared to most Hollywood types. Too bad you don't see that much these days |
