This has got to be one of the best war movies made.

I watched it over the break for the first time in a long time.

That movie made a big impression on me when I was young.

The Little Round Top scene made the movie IMHO.

I read Turner lost over $60 million of his own money on Gods and Generals. That's why he refused to finance the third film.

yeah, read that as well, which is why the 3rd will probably never be made.

Even with the horrible beards and "made for cable" quality of acting, I find that I absolutely love Gettysburg. I even have the "Gift Set" that includes the extended edition on VHS.

I actually liked it Gods and Generals, also. However I do understand why most people don't.

I like both Getty and G&G.  But Getty is undeniably the best.

I saw both Gettysburg and G&G in the theater. Nothing beats the artillery barrage before Pickett's Charge with the sound system in a movie theater!

The Little Round Top Scene was great too.

The scene is G&G with The Irish Brigade fighting the Irish Confederate unit had me pretty choked up too. They don't make men with that kinda bravery anymore!
