| The new movie with Hugh Jackman. Don't know anything about it, but the commercials are playing the same catch tune from "Pirates of the Caribbean". Composers have writer's block? |

Yeah, I'm getting a Far and Away/Pearl Harbor vibe on it myself.
Plot from IMDB: In northern Australia prior to World War II, an English aristocrat inherits a cattle station the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn stock-man to drive 2,000 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. |

Yeah its a love story..... But the bombing of darwin is done really well. Ive heard its a good movie not a great one, with a little too much aussi cliche, which does annoy me. Overseas markets, esp the US will eat it up though. I recommend seeing it, you will come away knowing a lot more about Australia. Nothing wrong with a love story... unless you screw up the whole movie with it like Pearl Harbor. That is pretty much the word on it… people who have actually seen it like it and expect it to be a smash here. May be we will get luck and get The Proposition meets From Here to Eternity |
