I've always been a Directv guy but recently switched over to my local cable company. I'm 'renting' a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 DVR box from them and I generally hate it. I can't delete channels off the on-screen guide and the recording gives me problems. Can I just buy my own box from BestBuy or something? Does it have to be compatible in some way with my cable company? Can someone recommend me a good box that I can just buy. |
