In the end of the movie when he goes back to play Fats what the hell game are they playing? The game is abbreviated like all of them but he calls a couple low balls as well as a couple high balls. I love pool but couldnt figure it out. I thought they were playing nine ball till he called the 12. Any ideas?? |
| They played straight pool. You play up to a certain number of points were each ball is one point. You can shoot at any ball you want, in any order. Players keep shooting until they miss or scratch. The last ball of the rack stays on the table where it lays and the rest of the balls are racked as normal, with no ball in the head spot. If the player is good, they will leave the last ball near the rack so that they can use it to break up the rack on the next game. |

Thanks AR_ron I figured that it was something along those lines. I am a rookie who sticks to straight 8 and a occasional 9 ball game. One of the older guys I play with kind of got me hooked on a version of eight ball he calls 1,15 last pocket eight. One and Fifteen have to go in the side (opposites). Really makes you plan out your shots. I knew there were some sharks lurking in here |
