How does Mr Mason know what caliber the gun is that Jed has when he offers him a box of ammo right out of his coat pocket?

My favorite scene is in the beginning when the Huey takes out the roadblock.  It's very short, but I guess I like the thought of at least some American response happening so quickly after the invading forces hit the ground.

It was Jed's Grandfathers gun.  He, being about the age of Jed's grandfather, would have known, being that everyone in a small town knows everything about everyone else.

Mr Mason told Jed Here is a box of ammo for your Grandfathers pistol. I assume he knew Jed's grandfather.

I think Rae Dawn Chong sucks.

Plus, the Russians cant even read a map, attacking some town in New  Mexico and thinking they are in Colorado.  Jeebus.

Beware, having seen Red Dawn will earn you an entry in someones notebook.

Did anyone else notice the price of the regular gas at store where they loaded up?

I don't understand why they are coming out of the chamber in such a grab-astic fashion and not getting thrashed for touching their faces.  Must be an Army thing.

P.S.  Damn, I was right next to the hotplate when the DI tossed a big blob onto it.  I could not see my hand a nose-length, and I got to enjoy the experience as they moved towards the door removing masks.  About as bad as a nice dry-shave, all over, with a dull blade, especially on the eyes.  I did not know that sinuses contained two gallons of snot. It was great!

Fuck, I miss that.  Truly.  Those of you still on active duty, love every minute of it.  There is nothing else like it on Earth, bad as it can get.
