Looks like another hit by Christian Bale is coming out with "Harsh Times." Interesting plot: Former Army Ranger Christian Bale returns to civilian life and his home town of LA after experiencing heavy combat. Bale’s character reunites with his long time friend and falls back into his old ways of raising hell while at the same time pursuing a career as an agent in the Department of Homeland Security. This movie is from the same people that brought us training day, which I really enjoyed so this film has potential. Favorite Trailer Quote: “I’m a soldier of the apocalypse.” Link to movie website: www.harshtimes.com/ |
| Saw it last night, thought it was excellent. Pretty heavy stuff, Bale's character has some serious social issues hock.gif. Not really date movie material. Violence, guns, drugs, and some nice one-liners ("I see dumb people"). Was actually written before Training Day, by the same writer, so has a similar feel. But I thought Christian Bale was way more menacing in this. It's predictable, but the acting makes it worth the ride. |

Yep, saw it yesterday and it was outstanding. Bale gave a terrific performance, very believable. Freddy Rodriguez was excellent as well, although I am not familiar with his work on Six Feet Under. The strangest thing was, I have a buddy that in many ways reminds me of Bale's character, and it was kind of creeping me out. Not really an action movie, but what little action there was was very satisfying and well done. I highly recommend seeing this film. |
