I just watched this movie. Has anyone seen it? It's a documentary style film about three guys who go to Afghanistan after 9/11 in search of Bin Laden. The movie was kind of boring overall, but has some pretty cool moments, especially the brief gun fights which are surprisingly realistic. I don't know how they did the special effects but they did a hell of a good job of making a shootout look like a real shootout.

Sorry dude, I hated that film.  Interesting concept but it just got old fast.

I thought it was very original, and terrific for such a small budget.  Not too many original concepts out there these days, and this one really grabbed ahold of me.  The filmmakers were pretty ballsy too, going out into the wilds of Afghanistan even after US forces told them they were on their own, and to get the hell out of the country if they knew what was good for them.

I think it is definitely worth a rent at a minimum.  The only thing that bothered me was that for part of the film the main character is carrying what appears to be a .22lr AK variant.

I have the movie.
As far as actually being filmed in Afghanistan...not sure.
Scenes were staged, ect.  The police chase, the gunfight, ect.  all staged.
Still interesting to watch, especially the FIRST time you see it.

It just seemed to play out like they were trying to make things 100% real, when the remotely cool parts were all staged.  <shrug>

YES it is at least worth a rental.  Some moments get pretty crazy!

You do realize that the whole movie was staged from the very beginning.  I dont think they were ever in Afghanistan.

Of course.  I wasn't sure at first but once CGI rounds started going downrange, I knew for certain.  The extras on the DVD go into the entire experience.  Yes, virtually everything was filmed in Afghanistan/Pakistan.  The cops they meet on the street were real Afghan police who were talked into appearing in the film only minutes before filming, IIRC.
