I just inherited my in-laws "old" big screen t.v. which has an S-video input.  Is it really better than the Monster RCA cable I am using now?

S-Video - Better than "composite video because it seperates the luminance (white level) and chrominance (color information). Used on DVD's, TV's, Satellite receivers and Cable TV boxes. Also used on some Computers with TV outputs.

I could barely tell a difference between RCA, S-Video, and component.

I would hate to spend $40 for a single cable and not be able to tell a difference.

S-video over RCA. I run Direct TV and have one input set-up w/s-video and another set-up with RCA so I can listen to cd's while still watching tv(muted). There is definitely a difference. The better quality the source the bigger the difference. Have my dvd player hooked up with optical and it gives a better picture than s-video. The s-video and the optical run thru my HT rec.
