Is Hollywood completely out of new ideas?

It's not that they have run out of ideas, it's just that the industry is all about money. Why take chances on new IPs and risk losing money when they can make sequels and re-boots for guaranteed money?

Because then everyone will say "Oh man, that was such a rip-off of Point Break"... so just be up front about it and rip it off in everyone's face and call it the same name.

It looks ok... but, again, there's no comparing to the original.
