watched a movie titled "Blindness"
starred Julianne Moore, about a contagious virus (disease?) that causes the person to lose sight.

The .gov starts putting people into quarantine and they are fed, but pretty much on their own.

the movie is kind of a TEOTWAWKI, societal breakdown flick.

some parts were slow, but it was interesting

Watched Tunnel Rats tonight, its a Uwe Boll film so i expected crap... but the level of shit of this film is really bad.  half of the prop guns look like squirt guns , and the toys or stuff they are using for grenades and other weapons is pretty bad. It has some decent Gore , thats about the only thing thats good in the film. I don't suggest it to anyone.

I started watching Copper, a show about a cop in 5 points in NY set around the time of the film gangs of new york, Its pretty decent.

about to watch the end of the tv series Over There (2005) about a US Army squad in Iraq.

It's pretty good, not as good as Generation Kill but not bad.

Anyone know why it was cancelled after 1 season?

been watching:

first season of Strike Back - a cool action/ spy thriller series from Cinimax

second season of Eastbound and Down - so stupid it's funny

A Cabin in the Woods - a cool twist on the "group of friends going to a cabin in the woods for the weekend" horror genre

Over the weekend, watched:

Memento (2000)  Would give it a 6/10, probably never watch again

Sound of My Voice (2011)  Pretty weak movie about journalists going under cover inside a cult, maybe a 2-3/10 in my book. Never watch again.

And about half of season five of The Big Bang Theory which of course I'll continue to watch

The Core, ok end of the world disaster movie. ive seen a lot of terrible ones, this one was just ok.

Inglorious Bastards from 1978 on bluray, it was a fun silly war movie. but dont bother buying this disc, the audio transfer is total and complete utter shit. The voice track is so quiet all the music and effects drown it out, and when you turn the voice up the music and explosions are just way too  loud. I dunno how they can release it like this,

Wife and I are both hooked on this show.... "Bazzinga!"

Heh, I know man. With the episodes being only 20 mins long it's not hard to sit down and kill 4-5 without noticing .

ETA: Watched a couple episodes of Counting Cars earlier, love the blue conv 67(?) GTO he did, lucky bastard kept it too. Then watched the season premiere of Castle from last night. Then the newest episode of Fast'n Loud. Think I'll watch Hardcore Pawn here in a min, they had a new episode on tonight.

I'm going to catch hell for this, but I watched "An Act of Valor" last night and it was meh at best.  Flame away.  While the weapons and tactics were solid as the people in it are apparently military in real life, the acting was horrid and the storyline was somewhat predictable.  Worth a onetime watch but won't be buying it.

i liked the movie, but acting was soso, but many of the people in the film were not professional actors so that is fine, i did not care for the superlong narration or the guy they picked to do it. He just has a boring voice, reminded me of some professors i had that would talk you to sleep.  Other than that i liked the movie for the most part. it was a bit different than most combat movies.

watched a couple movies that I saw mentioned on this forum:

- Tucker and Dale vs Evil - a funny twist on a "psycho rednecks terrorizing college kids in the woods" movie
- Go Tell the Spartans - a combat movie about the early Viet Nam war
I liked them both

Had to watch "The Vow" with the spousal unit.

I did not think much of Go tell the Spartans, my dad said its one of his favorite war films, and years later i saw it and thought this boring, but i guess its just me. Ive seen many a war movie, and for me its just near the bottom of the pile. I do realize it did not have much of a budget.

not too Fond of A Thin Red Line or Battleground either. 84 Charlie Mopic was a bit boring to.

I was watching Red Dawn for the millionth time last night, it happened to come on the tv.

watched a couple of weak movies:

The Iron Lady - about Margaret Thatcher and her career in politics.  Meryl Streep played a great Thatcher, but the way the movie was told was lame,
not worth the time

For the Love of the Game - Kevin Costner as a Hall of Fame pitcher at the end of his career, and a woman he starts to fall in love with (made early 90s?)
not such a great baseball movie, not a good love story either
- Bull Durham was a better movie from both angles

Watched "Zombie" from 1979 last night.   I dont know what it is about horror movies from that era but it was creepier than anything I have seen made recently. Its not particularly well written or acted....but still creepy......at least to me

Is it the music?
The practical special effects?

The Social Network.

I liked the movie but I can't imagine that's what Mark Zuckerberg is really like. The kid from Zombieland played an amazing asshole and if Timberlake's character is anything like that in real life he's a huge piece of shit.

Super 8. Wife and I enjoyed it. Though it could have used less homages to 80s Spielberg movies and way fewer cheap thrill moments (cheesy make-you-jump moments).

The pilot for Mockingbird Lane.  When I first heard that they were going to reboot The Munsters I expected a load of absolute crap, but the pilot really surprised me.  I hope this gets picked up.

They already annouced that they scrapped plans for a series and are going to burn off the pilot as a Halloween special.

I posted a thread about it back when I saw the announcement:  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1376908_NBC_s_Munsters_reboot_now_to_be_a_one_shot_special__not_a_series___.html

Well, of course they did.
