Wife needs a new van before I head overseas for a year. She likes the Saturn Relay, Carmax has a 06 with 40k for $12,500 loaded out, DVD power door, etc. Was all set to sign and they couldn't get ahold of anyone at my bank to verify my loan check. I'm suposed to go back tomorrow to sign. Looked online and found a 08 Uplander for 13K, LS base model, with only 8,000 miles. She likes the loaded out Saturn, I'm thinking Uplander. What say the hive.  We currently have a 02 Venture with 200,000 miles,

Went with the Relay.

Toyota > Saturn

ETA: Shit never mind, I just googled "Uplander" and it is a Chevy, so it is probably the exact same vehicle as the Saturn. I thought you were talking about that little Toyota car thing they want to be an SUV.

The Saturn Relay and Chevy Uplander are both the same vehicle

I just bought an 06 Relay for the wife for $11K with 54,000 on the clock.

If you plan on driving it till the wheels fall off I would opt for the more heavily optioned of the two. There's no point on skimping for the base model if you plan on living with it that long. I also think the Saturn with it's 17" wheels is a better lookin and driving rig.

If the Uplander has the rear entertainment system it would be just as good as the Relay in my book. But if not you'll be glad you went with the Saturn. Let me tell ya with two boys 4 and 8 and going from a 95 Transport to an 06 Relay those wireless headphones for the integrated DVD alone were worth the $11K I spent

Some other questions

Does the Uplander have power slide doors?

Do they both use the 3.5engine?

Is either AWD?

Look at it this way there's appx 30,000  miles difference between the two. That's one maybe to years worth of mileage. I would gladly trade off a year or so over the course of 10 to not be stuck in a stripper model. In the end you will be glad you opted for the extra options.

Besides buy the wife what she doesn't want and you'll hear about it for the next decade.

BTW look at how much safer the Last generation of GM vans are vs the previous YIKES!

Thanks for your input. It helped. I went with the Relay. It was much better equiped and was what the Wife prefered.
