i got a 90 toyota corolla 4 cyl, 5 speed. just the other day i noticed the brake lights on while it was parked. went out to investigate and couldnt find anything. so to keep the battery from runnung out i pulled the fuse. is it the switch on the brake pedal gone bad, or what else could it be?

try propping up the pedal and seeing if the lights turn off.  like pull the pedal towards the drivers seat as far as possible.  it might just be worn out since it's a 1990.  it's probably a brake pedal switch like u suspect.  i'd check the bulbs and wiring for any obvious defects on the brake lights themselves also

problem solved. for about 14$ and 20 mins of time i replaced the switch, so far so good.
