Ran my new (old) truck through its paces yesterday. Im considering a spool for the front end. Obviously I wouldnt want to drive around much at all with 4wd engaged on pavement and I would have to unlock my hubs. How does a spooled front end handle on dirt/mud etc? Does it like to push (understeer) a lot when turning? |

How much power or tires can these take? Everything I am seeing says no high hp and no big tires. Im not looking to do anything too crazy, probably 33" tires tops in my F150 with a 351. As far as extra power over stock, I doubt itd see much there either. A buddy of mine is running the Richmond equivalent in a Malibu that pulls one tire when launching on slicks. They'll handle as big a tires and as much torque as your hubs and axle shafts will support. But by all accounts the Aussie is a better made and engineered piece of equipment than the Lock-Right |

The Aussie doesn't seem to expensive either! Anyone have experience driving them on the street? Didn't you mention having lockout hubs. If so it doesn't matter the diff will never turn on the street But to answer your question. Nobody complains, they just report a minor clicking sound when turning. But again this is on Jeeps with no way to disconnect the axles |
