I have a few questions that hopefully the hive mind can help me answer.  First I use Mobile 1/Pennsoil Pure Platinum in my truck and the my wife’s car. I change the oil every 5,000 miles. Mobile 1 cost $21-$23 (per 5 quart container) and Pure Platinum cost $19 (per 5 quart container) at the local Walyworld. I have used synthetic in my last 3 vehicles. Walyworld sells their Super tech brand of synthetic oil for $14 (per 5 quart container).

Question: If any synthetic is better than any conventional oil, can I buy the Super Tech pure synthetic and get the same benefits as the Mobile 1/Pure Platinum?

Anybody have any experience with Super Tech synthetic oil?

synthetics are better than regular motor oil for some things.

First off you are changing your oil way to often for using synthetic. If you are going to change it that often, then you should save yourself some money and use regular oil.

Or start using an oil sample to verify you need an oil change. Runs around 20 bucks each time, so it might be a wash.

Not all synthetics are created equal, nor are all synthetics true synthetics.

Again in your case, any oil should do if you insist on changing every 5k.

I change every 10k or once a year depending on which comes first.
