Im pretty dead set on paying cash for this bike, I like the V Rod bikes and the styling of this bike, AAFES has a deal pretty much MSRP is what I pay for it out here and Ill be paying cash.  Anyone whos bought one, how do you like it and what did you pay?

Well, had a disappointing conversation the other day, apparently when I went to order my 08', I found out that they couldnt ship to Hawaii since the asshole who runs the dealership in Honolulu wont accept bikes ordered through AAFES because it undermines his business (cuts away at his $5k-$10k dealership markup he rapes everyone else with.)  So, only way to do it is have it sent to a family address and pick it up, then ship it to Hawaii; or buy something when I get back on island.  Im now considering buying something else and boycotting H-D altogether simply because corporate H-D allows something like this to happen.

NF, have you messed around w/ the VROD at all???  Just curious, as they are very different than your standard HD as far as handling and everything goes.  I work at a HD dealership in GA, back in service, so I've dealt with 1 or 2.  In the past month, we've un-crated 2 night rods, and if I recall correctly, both were military sales.  We're in a military city, so 65+% of our sales and service usually have some affiliation w/ military.  The night rods are very nice bikes, I really like the blacked out engine.  We have minor service issues here and there of course, as with any bike, mostly the 1k service comes WAY too quick .

The only, and I do mean, THE ONLY, downfall that I could fault on the Night Rod Special visual wise, is the fact that the stripes down the tank and fenders are the denim paint, which means you can't use anything but windex/ammonia based cleaners and mild soaps on it.  That denim paint is absolutely useless.  The standard Night Rods are pretty sweet, no flaws visually...

The MSRP that I'm showing in my book is 14,995 for black, 15,280 for color, or 16,495 for the Night Rod Special just to make sure that's close to what you were quoted from AAFES.

Thanks for your service!

Is paying MSRP really a deal on those?

Sometimes above msrp.

I have never bought and will never buy a Harley from the dealership. The Sporty I have now had 500 miles on it when I found it in the paper and I paid $1500 under sticker for it and it still had warranty left on it.

My Dad saw a V Rod (not same model, but prices are all about the same for that style bike) for $33k at a dealership in Sturgis a couple weeks ago, thats a hell of a markup if you ask me.

Have it shipped from Old Fort Harley in Fort Smith, AR.  Last time I priced a V-rod, they were jumping to go below MSRP.

And I believe they ship bikes.
