I have a '99 Nissan Altima and at times my compressor makes a squeeking noise. It will usually stop if I take my foot off the accelerator and doesn't make the noise again for a while after I resume applying gas. Sometimes I'll need to trun off the A/C then turn it back on to get rid of the noise.

Other than the squeeking the A/C works great. It blows out snowballs

Is my compressor going or is it just a belt?

Don't know anything about that car, but I'd go with the belt first, then check the clutch.

I concur, and if the belts fine, then it might be a dry bearing or such inside the A/C's pulley.

I serouisly doubt its anything on the inside of the compressor, but then again, A/C isnt my best subject.

Buy a belt and replace it. $20 at auto zone. Just replaced mine last week.
