I've got a Poulan Pro lawn tractor.  Mowing the yard last weekend, got up to take a delivery from UPS (kill switch killed the engine) and it won't start up now.  Won't turn over, nothing.  There is a click when I turn the key to start, but that's it.  Brand new battery.
Thoughts, suggestions, ideas?
Thanks

Bad solenoid? Did you try jumping it?

The main red wire from the battery should go to the solenoid and the wire lead from the solenoid should go to the starter. Jump those two posts with a screwdriver. If it starts, the solenoid is the culprit.

Thanks, I'll try that tomorrow when the lightning and hail is gone.

make sure the kill switch is operating and not stuck in the 'kill' position.

Looks like the solenoid.  Jumped it, sparks flew, and the starter rolled over.  Looks like I'll be ordering a replacement from Sears next week.
It looks to be fairly straightforward, but is there any trick to swapping them out?
Thanks again-

Just be careful and unhook the ground from the battery before you start. Hook the ground up last.
