plugged the old ladys truck in the other day.  it has a block heater in the freeze plug, and a battery blanket.  heard a clicking sound after about 5 seconds.  found it was the coolant flowing through the hose and radiator.  its just a little coil heater in the block, could not of gotten hot enough to boil the coolant in a matter of seconds.  figured id replace the power cord.  anyone have any ideas why the coolant flow?  cant think of anything that would be causing it.

It may not have been boiling, just a little convection flow.

i tried it again last night, before replacing the power cord today.  it was still warm, and did not make the coolant flow.  it was about -10"F.  maybe it just does it when the coolant is cold.  nobody else had ever heard of/noticed this though.  wish i remembered my physics classes.  should be fun this week putting the oil pan and tranny heaters in.  not supposed to be above 0'F all week.

you know it gets cold when you start driving and your tires feel square from the flat spot on the bottom.
