Would a 650 v-star haul my 230 pound ass around along with my wife? Or do I deffinately need an 1100?

It shouldn't have any problems with power, but size wise, it might not be good for long rides.

I know on my 750, it has no problems with two up and my fat self (6" 280lbs).  Just have to have a small woman on back.

I had a 750 Honda 4, MrsWind told me it was too small...I go at 300 now, I am 6'6" make that 310, with gun ammo and switchblade.
So she made me buy this...

Get a bigger bike, at least an 1100, mine is a 1300 and it is great,

Get a 1500, your a big guy, otherwise, in six months,  or next riding season  your going to  think wish  I would of gone bigger.  .

i was always advised to get the biggest bike you could swing, because you will always regret it later if you don't.  much like gun safes.

I ride a 650 vstar and I'm bigger than you. I also ride two up of course shes only about 115-120.

I have no problems running 70-75 with just me or me and her. The only downside to a Vstar 650 is it is a 5spd and you keep wanting to shift into a 6th gear that isn't there. So when running highway speeds it is revving but not dangerously high. Even the alleged vibrations of the 650 are not as bad as everyone said they are nor is the power really that lacking. If you are used to a sportbike or bigger than 650 sure itll be a dog. But if its your first bike I think you'll be happy for a while. I think it's an excellent beginner bike.
