And the rest is going to be a disappointment. I'm having them deliver it. Too much traffic and I'm too rusty. Didn't feel safe riding it home from here. Rode it in the parking lot some. Scared myself a bit. Lol Throttle was really touchy. |

Knowing our limitations and staying within them is key to staying safe, be it a bike, car, plane, etc. Congrats and enjoy relearning on your new bike! |

I would not have been able to sleep last night  , and I would have had it delivered too, or rented a truck to haul it myself if they would not deliver.

Both have the same motor and DCT as the NC750X. Honda's DCT has been out for 16 years and it's really good. It was even further refined in 2025 to help with low speed driving in traffic. If you ever look at one in the future. Buy with confidence.

And it rarely hurts to have a bit more throttle if you need it.Honestly though the SECA is what made me abort riding this home. Was riding to my girlfriend's house about 2 AM way too tired after getting off work and while accelerating from a stop light I lost my balance shifted backwards and rolled the throttle wide open. Instant redline, no way to get off the throttle, and nothing in front of me so I shifted a few times. Ended up way too fast before I got it under control. That taught me how quickly things can go south even w/ nothing around you.

You won't get crucified by me. I own 8 motorcycles from various classes. My '26 Ibex 800 is one of my favorites. It's not my favorite street bike. It's not my favorite dirt bike. Boy, it's fun to hop on and cruise the back roads. The only reason I went with the 800 is to have the extra highway power in case I wanted to hit a BDR or something. However, the extras that come with the 800 made it worth the money for me. The Ibex 450 was a fun bike that handled rougher off road well, but didn't come with the same options as standard. If he's looking for mostly on road and dirt and doesn't mind bumping up to just over $10 grand, I'd go with the Ibex 800. If he wants a fun bike, doesn't need heated seats, grips, bag racks, blind detection, fog lights, etc etc then Ibex 450 would be a good choice, really cheap if he can find a leftover with the rebate. |
