Slight update. Basically we are back on schedule. I won't bore you with the details of why I haven't posted in my own thread in so long. Not at this moment anyway. I appreciate you guys that are interested in the thread and these old trucks. Bear with me. I have ordered a new radio, the truck is 97% assembled. But I'm not happy with some of the bodywork, and we've come too far to let it go. We will make it better. New grille will be ordered next month. I have ordered a seat from Snowden. The valves have been adjusted once more. Engine sounds incredibly rowdy. Hopefully in the not too distant future I will upload a video with sound for you guys. Thank you all again! | Looking good. Is the color Wimbledon White? I bought mine new in 79, Ranger XLT. I ordered the truck so I picked just about everything you could get including the “Box Cover” , Ford cap for the bed. Spent just under 11k which was a lot of money for a pickup truck back then. It’s still in the family, my son has it. |

It’s still in the family, my son has it. Cool deal! It gets confusing but basically when I was very young my father had several of these trucks over the years that got horse traded or sold. The one that he kept (the frame of this one) was a Ranger XLT. The color isn't Wimbledon. It's not a Ford color. I chose a white from an affordable paint vendor online. I think it's called Glacial or Glacier. Can't remember. It's quite a bit brighter than Wimbledon. I love Wimbledon White. However one of the things I discussed with my father/partner/lead builder that I didn't want is "uncle Jessie's truck". So the white is still a basic white. But brighter, and instead of gold or eggshell tone of Wimbledon, this has a grey'r tone to it. New grille came in..... Attached File |

As a very slight update to keep this thread from dying.... Sorry it's been so long since last post. More things are happening. Getting closer. Seat I waited on for last 3 months finally came in. Bed has been repainted. Again. Some chrome installed. This next bit should go a little quicker. I will have more pics and video at that point. Attached File Attached File |

This is to keep my thread out of the archives. I want to apologize yet again. There hasn't been a lot of progress but there's been a lot of progress if you understand. The ol' 2 steps forward and 3 back type a deal. But..... And it's a very big but.... It's going to be pretty mean. We looking better and better. Motor is getting right. Life is good.
