Heads?
I have a set of 1.94/1.60 cast iron heads that are on a low mileage crate motor. When I go on a 500+ mile trip two plugs foul. Around town it runs normally. Sometimes they "came off a running motor" for a reason. I finally got all my front end parts in one place to refresh the front end and brakes of my 1947 pickup. The engine will come next. I have my eye on those ebay heads. Lots of places sell the same aluminum heads with a different name on them. They seem to have good ratings. |

You too huh OP. Sticking a pontiac 66 LeMans Sprint 6 OHC engine in mine. well, not sticking it's there, but the rest of the car ugh, well it looks like yours. Mines an original 1930 frame, I also have the cowl but that's if for body, the floor and body will have to be made by myself, so definitely a rat rod.
My father had a 327 from a 67 or 68 I can't recall Camaro sitting next to it forever, well I finally talked him into putting it in his 53 Chevrolet pickup and he's given me the A model. He already had the straight 6 in it to be different. You know a GM V8 in a A model is played out when a 70yr old mechanic was putting a straight 6 in one 30 years ago because "everyone does that". Buuut there's reason, it's a good combination so "meh".

| Looks like I'm a bit late, but will reply to "tag" the thread anyway. Was going to suggest a 12V Cummins 6BT. That is starting to be a thing I guess in some of the retro rods, but a unique way to power the thing too. Plenty of torque for burnouts if you wanted to do it, and you can mate it up to a 4 speed without too much trouble. More expensive than an SBC though unless you find a 90's Dodge 2500 truck for a donor. |

Got some stuff in from speedway. Played around with the MII R&P. I think I'm going to send it back. Not that it can't work, it's just going to be too fucking ugly. So for now I think I know someone with a vega box I can get cheap. Thankfully Speedway has the best return policy ever.

Header flanges to build headers Manual flywheel No distributor All machine work to be a " Ground Pounder". Over $4600 invested- Oiled Up & spunned often, But Never Ran. Located in Portland , Tennessee.

That body is in great shape. If you want to fill the top, you may still be able to pick an SUV roof collision repair panel. I used a Jeep Cherokee, one of the older square bodies. It came from the dealer with nice ribs, already primed, for $200. All I had to do was trim it with some electric shears a few inches off each edge and then tack it down, adding a single inside rib. A local shop was doing several different years with that panel.
Be sure to check out Direct Sheet Metal for firewall and floor panels. The front panels and trans tunnel are a bargain, all the other floor panels are easy to make yourself. |

Rootleib is another source for good sheet metal.
Hagan makes among the best three piece hoods out there, and the cleanest hot rod hidden hood hinge setup. Brookville Roadster has the original forge from Ford and original stamps to reproduce Model A front and rear fenders if you go that route. They aren't cheap, but they are perfect. For a while there was no source at all for steel fenders and I had to have a coach shop make my rears after a collision. Not perfect, and not cheap, but they were good enough. Wescott will have lower patch panels. Those A bodies were often left in the dirt or mud to rust out the lower portions. |

FWIW I've been running across a lot of cheap chris crafts in my search for a more expensive hobby than cars guns and women.
Good source for Ford 427's still. I would have thought they would all be snagged up. |

| Well, I should clear up that in the realm of how much car 427's cost, it's relatively cheap. Some are real ide oilers, some apparently are just top oilers that used side oiler blocks. They were sourced formed from 1966on for a few years. |
