BOTH of wife's Tahoes went  down, Castech heads dumping coolant into oil.
Slapped a  handy spare 4.8 liter motor into one of the Tahoes, keep her mobile, and happy for  next month or so.

One of the 5.3 Liter motors only has 90,000 miles,  in great shape, but building  black sludge, bottom of oil pan,  internally leaking a quart of coolant every 3 weeks.

Need a pair ( Maybe  end up buying TWO sets ) of guaranteed  GOOD LS heads, nothing fancy, New or  PROPERLY  rebuilt, prefer outright, no core charge, because return shipping from ALASKA would be expensive.

Any body here in the cylinder head  business ?

Any good deals out there on real GOOD stock spec LS cylinder heads.

DO NOT need  hotrod after market parts,  STOCK compression, all we get is 87 octane here, and it is wife's daily driver, want durability, reliability, and 200,000 more miles.

Www.corvetteforum.com. I've been in LS engines since 1997 and the best place to buy used LS parts is corvette forum. Ls1tech is full of kids.

Another option is LKQ which is a national salvage yard and have them ship to you  Just make sure you get a set of aluminum heads and not the early 5.3 irons.

Not trickflow. Not a hotrod.

Not junkyard.

Not used take-offs.

Have a cherry, low miles 2004 Tahoe, everything perfect,  needs standard, OE spec heads.

Want to put 250,000 more miles on this one.

HP-Tuners has shift points, torque management, fuel curve is dialed in nicely.

stock compression, ( edit)  Mild, low lift  cam..... just need reliable, durable, longterm transport..

Pop on PerformanceTrucks.net or ls1tech.com and buy some OE 241/243/702/799/862.

Best of those would be the 243 followed by the 799, but you can use pretty much any cathedral port LS head from 97-2015 on your 5.3L.  702/862 are going to be stock, and probably cheapest.

Unless you buy direct from TEA, Patriot, etc. expect to have a local shop clean, hone, and rebuild whatever heads you get. I had my 243's for my CTS-V done locally for $329, but I did supply the springs.

Ordered a pair of  " Reman" heads  from local carquest store, probably sourced from Spartan/ ATK in Texas.
 300 per side.

Plus gaskets.

Have a camshaft from Texas Speed  on the way: 212/218 duration, .550" lift and set of LS9 springs,

.Should  be safe up to 6500 rpm, though I doubt it will rev 3rd gear all the way out.
