We keep getting a pretty good vibration when we are between 65-70 mph, before and after that it's pretty smooth. We assume the tires are out of balance. We have gotten them balanced twice and still have the same results. Any advice?
Thanks

sorry forgot the details: 06 xterra off road, tires: 285/75/16 Goodyear MTR's (original version not new).
Bought them used, one was cupped pretty good. After they were initially installed all was fine. after 3k miles we had them balanced and rotated. That's when the vibration started and has stayed since (about 5k miles)
Current shop said they were able to zero the tires but had to take off and add a fair amount of weight.

unbalanced drive shaft or brake rotor maybe? I feel like when it's braking, it doesn't do it smoothly and it kinda feels like if you were to tap the brakes and slow come to a stop that way. would that maybe indicated warped rotors and would that cause a vibration in the 65-70 mph range?

if they were fine before the balance, then the guess is the balance. could just  be crappy tires, but see if you can find a balance place that does it on the car, instead of off.
it might make a difference.

Find a tire shop that does a "High speed" balance, not those 15mph ones that you got. That is why.

Other tricks, swap back tires/rims for fronts, see if problem still persists.

If it is the tires and that make, could try the airsoft pellets in the tire trick, that is really for giant tires that cant be balanced well.

Need to have then "road force balenced". You probably have a bad tire. A bad tire can be balenced.
