I have a '91 F350 w/7.3l IDI & 5-speed, and the dual mass flywheel is starting to make a little noise with the engine running from time to time. On a previous F350 I converted to a solid flywheel & sprung-hub clutch, but wasn't really happy with it because of the gear noise at low RPMs when under a load. So this time I want to retain the DMF. I've found one online for a very good price, but the problem is that someone else who's bought one already says there's slight movement between the segments. Now I've always been told that it should take an enormous amount of torque to move the outer segment relative to the inner - 450lb-ft for a 7.3l IDI, IIRC - but now I'm hearing from some sources that some movement is normal. Which is it? TIA.
