Some days you just need a little sand nap time. Here I'm getting up well rested after a recent snooze.  This from a recent camping trip to Anza Borrego desert in CA. Awesome trip! Highly recommend the area!

More pics from that weekend...

Thanks for the pic's OP.  Please try to post some more.  It has been a long cold winter here.

Will do! This was my first trip camping out in that area and it was just great! I've also got a trip to Death Valley at the end of March so there will be more coming from that too.

Nothing like traveling with friends on bikes with tents.

Sweet ride. Have just over 1500 miles on my WR250 since January and have been itching to do some bike camping again. Hard when there is still 1-3' of snow but should be able to in a few weeks.

Wish my 250 were as comfortable on road as yours....

You MUST ride that motorcycle to Prudhoe Bay.
Really.

Do you have a WR250R or WR250F?  With balanced tires, I actually thought the "R" version was very smooth on road.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but is the horizontal bike in the first pic intentional?

I always had the impression that letting the motor oil flow up into places it can't normally collect was somehow bad when you went to start it up. Gas leaks too, etc.

No, it is not intentional.  The front tire sometimes digs into the sand resulting in laying the bike down.  This is sometimes referred to as "taking a nap."

Ahhh.... it makes sense now. For some reason I though that was where he camped and he was getting ready to go again in the AM. I should have noticed all the tire tracks, him in full gear, and lack of any shelter.

Very Nice. Just got a new '13 800xc.  Getting it kitted for adventure, like the Strom before it was. Hardest part is finding symetrical racks. Almost everyone has the right side stick out further a few inches.

oh, and Semper Fi.

I have an 800 also. Awesome bike. I am taking my KLR with me to C.A. but I am keeping the 800 to bring down later.

The new watercooled adventure model looks pretty awesome as far as really heavy adv bikes go. But the KTM 1190 is Damon sexy too.

Who am I kidding...I like them all.

I followed a guy today that could make one of those fat fuckers dance,  I was really impressed.

Huh.  Is the foot still in there?

I have a pair of their adventure boots.  Gaerne seems to make great boots for the money.

I think he is referring to the scuff marks on the boots.

That bike has been leaned waaaaay over. Note there is no chicken strip on the outside edge of the tread.
