Just thought I would share. documentary about 2 guys travel by BMW about 18000/19000 miles in little over three months around the world. I really enjoyed this, when you see what they went through in Mongolia and Russia, kind of makes you feel guilty about not riding every day. I don't think they get into the rough stuff until episode 5 or 6. Pretty amazing, oh yeah this is from 2004. What a kick that would be. |

Both are decent. There were rumors of Charlie Boorman doing another one, from Canada to southern tip of South America. He came through AFG while I was there. sat and talked with him a couple hours, great guy. Ewan, eh, no clue. He already did it. I just bought his book on amazon. |

There was also talk of Charlie and Ewan going from the southern tip up to prudoe Bay, "Long Way Up". But BBC/sponsorship didn't pan through...yet. |

Very enjoyable series, both of them. However, head on over to ADVrider.com and see how normal people do it. No support trucks, tight budgets, paying for their own bikes and everything else.
It is nice to see how the other half live, but don't think it takes all that to pull something like this off. Read the ride reports by Striking Viking, Colebatch, RTWDoug, and Radioman to get a feel what ADV riding is really about. |
