I have a weird problem with my Mustang. 2000 GT auto,126xxx miles. At night when im driving the headlights will flicker on and off. I push the headlight switch in and that seems to help, but then they start to flicker again. Also when the turn signal is in use, they flicker really fast. Does it sound like a short, bad battery, alternator, etc etc?

The alternator isn't the issue; if you're getting a full battery charge, your alternator is fine.
If you get flickering when the signals are active, I would first look into the headlamp relays. It could be they're getting a bit weak to hold the contacts in place. Not sure if you need two (one for each headlamp) or one but it would be a relatively cheap test.

I can't remember if the multi-function switch can cause this problem.  Try searching for a good Mustang forum, they should be able to help.

Remove the upper and lower covers around the steering column, they're held in place with three or four phillips head screws, and inspect the connectors at the turn signal switch.  They have a tendency where the little tabs that hold the individual pins in place will break, allowing the pins to back out and causing intermittent lighting problems.
