Went muddin the other day and to exit/enter my truck a few times which helped me get a healthy layer of Oklahoma red dirt all over the driverside floorboard

So far ive scraped the door areas that got muddy, but now I get to clean my carpet. Any suggestions on how to clean it and what shampoo to use?

I use head and shoulders it keeps the carpet dandruff down           really any good auto carpet cleaner  is good  just don't over wet the carpet as the backing of auto carpet will retain the water and cause mold under the carpet and make a smell that you will not soon forget.  try brushing as much as you can out first , you might have to use a stiff wire brush .

Caked on mud?

Scrape off, crack, break, pulverize as as much of the dried mud as possible.   Vacuum it out.  Wet the rest with a spray bottle.  Don't saturate it, just get it soft enough to suck it with the vacuum.  Use a wet-dry vac to suck out all mud.  Lather, rinse and repeat until clean and dry.  Leave the windows cracked until the carpet dries.

Get yourself some floor mats, the kind with the solid rubber backing.  Then, next time, you just take them out and hose them down.  Leave them in the sun until they dry.

I'm always dealing with adobe mud on my boots.
