| My local track (Bunker Hill) is considering a switch from NHRA to IHRA and is looking for feedback from the racers. Anyone have have any experience with the IHRA? |

IHRA is a MUCH better partner to the owners and operators of tracks. They do not have the 'nazi' attitude of forcing tracks to bend over to their demands like NHRA.
NHRA seems to think the tracks belong to them, due to the allure of being sanctioned. Everyone wants a big crowd, but the track owners need to have the final say what goes on race day. It comes down to respecting each other in a business deal. NHRA has gotten so big, their attitude has gone to shit. Seems like they want to be like NASCAR.....[:// Most larger tracks have no option, they have to put up with it to remain open, and NHRA knows it. Smaller non-sanctioned tracks that hold specialty events like Chevy/Ford/Mopar/Ricer weekend, are where I go nowdays. National events are great, I just hate what goes on in order to make it happen. If I owned a nice dragstrip and some pinhead in a suit from NHRA showed up and started telling me what to do, I'm certain one of us would have our name in the paper tomorrow..... |

Thanks. That is pretty much exactly what the owner of our track said, especially the "No respect" part. I guess it will be a good move, but it will suck not to have opportunities to win a Wally. I also hate the idea of driving 3-4 hours north for the finals in Michigan |
