Picked up a new transmission for my car yesterday. I won't be getting it ready/installed until about Feb or Mar of next year. Any way to protect it from rust or corrosion while it sits?

If you can get plugs for all the holes (try a transmission repair shop), fill it to the gills with clean tranny fluid and spray down the exterior with oil. That should keep corrosion down and prevent seals/gaskets from dry shrinking/cracking.
