OK - I'm pretty sure I need to do this job on my wife's Venture van.

Has anyone done this job?  The book says I've got to basically loosen up the front crade & drop it to get access to the side of the trans where the part is.  I'd like to know if this is really necessary, or is there a better/simpler way.  I don't have a hoist or anything to support the motor - but if I have to, I'll get one.

Thanks for any advice on this....

Left axle needs to come out, then the left side of cradle needs to come down 8-10'', not fun with a lift.

Thanks.  I was afraid the hard way is the only way; and I've contemplated farming this job out.  Lord knows I've saved a lot of money over the years doing my own stuff.  But, the part is less than $50 - the rest of the $500+ bill will be labor.  I can't pass that kind of avoidance up.  I'll do it myself next week.
